Stabilizing Fins
Rodriquez Marine Systems
offers many different sizes of fins in order to maximize
vessel safety and passenger comfort. Fin sizes range from
about 5 to 40 square feet which allows the selection of
the appropriate for different types of vessels, using both
twin and double twin fin systems. The smaller fins are made
of fibergalss, while the larger size fins are manufactured
from steel; all materials offer the very best strength characteristics
and optimum resistance to sea corrosion.
The RMS designs employ high lift NACA profiles with high
aspect ratios, designed to achieve the highest possible
lift per unit of area. The fin sections used by RMS have
been thoroughly studied and tank tested in order to obtain
the best lift to drag ratio as well as the most important
characteristic of avoiding cavitation at high speed.
